Overview  Blue Meanies mushrooms

Blue Meanies mushrooms strain is thought to have originated in Southeastern Australia from the Psilocybe cubensis species. It gets its name from blue bruising which occurs wherever the body is impacted. Its visual characteristics include medium/large fruiting bodies with thick, dense stalks and a golden caramel to tan, often white speckled cap. Blue Meanie is also a common name for Panneolus cyanscens (a different mushroom species).

Blue Meanies, scientifically known as Panaeolus cyanescens, are a potent and visually striking species of psychedelic mushrooms that belong to the broader category of psychoactive fungi. With a name inspired by the antagonistic characters in the animated film “Yellow Submarine” by The Beatles, Blue Meanies are renowned for their intense psychoactive effects and distinctive blue bruising when handled or damaged.

These mushrooms typically have a dark brown to purplish-black cap, which can range from 1 to 3 centimeters in diameter. The caps often have a convex shape when young but may flatten out as they mature. Beneath the cap, gills radiate outward and are initially pale gray before darkening with age. The stems of Blue Meanies are slender and can grow up to 10 centimeters in length, often displaying a bluish hue at the base or where bruised.
